Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 36 hours per week
• Contract length of 13 to 26 weeks accepted
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Every other weekend required; must be able to work holidays including 2 of 3 major holidays
• Floating to similar units required; floating at least once a week is typical
• Maximum of 7 pre-approved days of requested time off; no RTO during first week and no additional RTO after signing
• Scheduling based on unit scheduling gaps
• 24-hour unit orientation
• Navy scrubs required
• Must pass EKG test for this specialty
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS
• Required skills include: blood product administration, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, management of dysrhythmias, MS/Tele, non-invasive airway management, PCA, peripheral line care/management, titration of insulin drips, wound care/wound vac, IV heparin drips
• Documentation systems used: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
• Care for adult and geriatric medical/surgical and med surg tele patients
• Administer and manage Heparin and Insulin drips
• Contract staff will be assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
