About this role

Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center Crisis Response is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry position on a 36-bed unit serving adult and geriatric patients. This is a night shift role (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) on a 4x12 schedule, with a contract duration of 112 days starting August 3, 2026.

Shift & Scheduling

  • Night shift hours: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Patient ratios: 1:6 on nights; 1:5 on weekends
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Self-scheduling unit with maximum 7 days RTO per contract
  • Must work 2 of 3 major holidays; no RTO during first week
  • No on-call requirement
  • No block schedules unless weekend block

Clinical Expectations

  • Float requirement: may float to main campus approximately 32 minutes away
  • Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignment; may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
  • 24-hour unit orientation provided
  • EKG testing required prior to start

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Experience with Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing
  • Competency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry remote monitoring, rapid response/code team protocols
  • Proficiency with central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IV care, phlebotomy, chest tubes, non-invasive airway management (BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula)
  • Knowledge of medication administration (heparin, insulin, PCA), blood product administration, and wound care

Work Environment

The unit serves patients with conditions including diabetes, dementia, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, CHF, renal failure, hip fractures, anemia, UTI, and post-operative recovery. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and radiology. Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management are in use. Navy blue or white scrubs required.

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,560.90
