Telemetry RN Job in Winston Salem, NC

Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in Telemetry. You will work 4x12 night shifts on a fast-paced med-surg unit caring for orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients.

Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required; call-outs on weekends must be made up on a weekend
• Block scheduling options available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday)
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• No RTO approved during first week or on holidays; up to 7 days RTO auto-approved otherwise (excluding holidays); must work 2 of 3 major holidays

Clinical Details

• Patient ratio 5–6:1, with flexibility to 7:1 only in extreme cases
• Float requirement to other med-surg units based on census needs
• Focus on pain management for orthopedic and spine patients

Requirements

• RN degree with NC or compact license
• Minimum 2 years experience; orthopedic experience mandatory
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers accepted if Epic-experienced

Required Skills

• IV starts, telemetry monitoring, blood product administration
• Central line and peripheral line care and management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• PCA pump management, surgical drain care
• Total joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, post-operative neuro and spine care, hip and trauma hip experience

Preferred Experience

• Charge nurse experience
• Level I trauma experience

Additional Information

• Strong customer service orientation required
• Adult patient population only
• RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs or additional RTO requests may result in assignment cancellation and do-not-return status

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,528.06
