ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 3x12 or 4x12 hours based on traveler preference, scheduled from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Block scheduling may be accommodated
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• 2 years of experience required
• Patient population includes general critical care, medical surgical, and trauma cases
• Daily census of 32 patients across a 32-bed unit
• Charting system: Epic (experience preferred)
• Scrub color: All navy or navy bottoms with white top
• 16 hours of orientation required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active Alabama RN or Compact license required
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ICP monitoring, infection prevention, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), isolation precautions and PPE, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre and post cardiac cath/intervention, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, sheath removal, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT and NT), titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, TAVR, and ventilator management
