RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 3x12 or 4x12 hours based on traveler preference, with shift hours from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Block scheduling may be accommodated
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Float to CCU as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Care for neurocritical care patients including ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes, post-thrombectomy patients, traumatic brain injuries, status epilepticus, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological diagnoses requiring neurocritical care intervention
• Adults-only patient population
• Unit consists of 10 beds with a daily census of 8 to 10 patients
• Operate and manage special equipment including intracranial pressure monitors and external ventricular drains
• Required skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, CVA and acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, PICC line management, post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury care, suctioning, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and traumatic brain injury care
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more
• Charting system: EPIC (preferred experience)
• Scrub color: All navy or navy bottoms with white top
• Minimum 1 year of Neuro ICU experience required
• Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active Alabama or Compact RN license required
• Must reside at least 90 miles from the facility
