Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg PCU Tele Stepdown

Job Details:

• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Float assignment across Med Surg, Behavioral Health, ED, ICU, and some post-procedural areas based on census and staffing needs - there is no home unit
• Primary care will be Med Surg with floating across units where assistance is needed most
• Must complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a passing score of 80% during onboarding
• Must be able to comfortably and confidently read EKG/ECG including all telemetry-related duties such as rhythm strips and dysrhythmia reads
• Experience, comfort, and proficiency with the following drips required: heparin, insulin, lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin
• 24 months of experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Tele, or Med Surg/Telemetry required
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of nursing experience (hospital/medical center experience prioritized)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA/ARC), ACLS (AHA/ARC)
• NIH Stroke Scale certificate preferred (can be obtained during onboarding)
• De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, or CPI) preferred (can be obtained during onboarding)
• Skills checklist specific to Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele discipline required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required
