Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• 1 major and 1 minor holiday required per year (Major: Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day/Day after; Minor: Labor Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day)
• No on-call responsibilities
• 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass ECG exam on day 2 (pass/fail)
• Must be able to read and interpret own telemetry strips using Philips monitors
• RNs are responsible for titrating drips including Norepinephrine (Levophed), Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine (Neo-Synephrine), and Dopamine
• Experience with respiratory therapy equipment required including mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Care for patients with neurological and critical care diagnoses including stroke, acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), subdural hematoma (SDH), brain tumors, cerebral edema/increased intracranial pressure (ICP), hydrocephalus, acute respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, pneumonia, ARDS, COPD exacerbation, asthma exacerbation, acute heart failure/pulmonary edema, acute kidney injury (AKI), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS), gastrointestinal bleeding, acute liver failure, and severe electrolyte abnormalities
• 16-bed unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Two clinical techs available on unit for 16 patients
• First to float; may float to MSICU, PCCU, and care for up to four boarders
• Epic EMR access required
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
