Opportunity:
RN - ICU
Job Details:
• Night shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays including Thanksgiving, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Float pool position rotating through various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit, Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit, Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit, Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit, and ED Boarders
• Must adhere to float policy within scope of practice as needed
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract; no time off approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Patient ratios: 1.5 patients on days and weekends, 2 patients on nights
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Virginia nursing license required; pending license accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, CCRN
• Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Preferred skills: Continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Level 1 trauma experience
• BSN preferred
• References required
