CVICU RN Job in Reston, VA

Join Reston Hospital Center as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). You will work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a 3x12 schedule with a 91-day contract starting November 9, 2026. This role supports a newly launched cardiac surgery program with opportunities to develop advanced critical care skills.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (36 hours weekly)
• 3 weekend shifts required every 4 weeks
• Weekly pay: $2,260.08

Patient Care and Clinical Expectations

• 1:1 patient ratio for immediate post-surgical patients
• 1:2 patient ratio for Post-Operative Day (POD) 1–3 patients
• Primary nursing model utilized on the unit
• Floating policy maintains equivalent patient ratios when assigned to other units

Required Experience and Certifications

• 1–2 years of experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients and direct post-operative recovery
• ACLS certification required
• Advanced skills: balloon pump, Impella training, and Hemosphere or Acumen training
