About this role
You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac-Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at LVH - Cedar Crest, a teaching hospital and Level I trauma facility in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026.
Position Details
- Shift: 3x12 days per week
- Weekly pay: $2,354
- Weekend requirement: Every other
- Holiday requirement: Every other
- No on-call required
- PA or Compact license required at time of submission
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Experience with teaching hospitals and Level I trauma facilities
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Critical Care Float Pool experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Clinical Responsibilities
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics. Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 3:1 in the CVICU, with potential floats to Medical/Surgical or Low Level Monitoring units with up to 4 patients. You will manage a diverse range of critical care competencies including arterial line and central line management, ventilator and BiPAP/CPAP care, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, dysrhythmia management, pulmonary artery and Swan-Ganz monitoring, epicardial pacing wire management, ICP monitoring, post-cardiac surgery recovery, CABG and TAVR care, CVA and acute stroke management, shock management, and anticoagulation protocols.
Support Available
You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams. Floating to all critical care units, Medical/Surgical, or Low Level Monitoring may be required as needed.
