ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 5, 2026. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, earning $2,224 weekly.

Role and Environment

You will care for patients in a high-volume, 101-bed emergency department. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You will float within all sections of the ED as needed but will not float outside the department. Every other weekend scheduling is required with flexibility to meet departmental needs. Block scheduling is not available.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Use Baxter pumps and GE monitors for patient care delivery
• Document all care in the Cerner electronic health record system
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards and maintain updated patient boards throughout patient visits
• Demonstrate teamwork and coach colleagues with real-time feedback
• Work flexibly across all ED areas

Requirements

You must hold a current RN license. Minimum qualifications include 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting. Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with over 100,000 visits annually is preferred.

Required certifications before your start date are ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS. You must obtain ENPC certification within 90 days of hire.

You must wear navy scrubs as your uniform. Ability to work flexible schedules and adapt to changing departmental needs is essential.
