ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital, a 101-bed ED in Asheville, NC. This is a 16-week travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026, paying $2,365.20 per week on a 3x12 night shift schedule (6:45 PM–7:15 AM).

Role and Responsibilities

• Care for patients in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
• Float flexibly across all ED sections, remaining within the Emergency Department
• Document using Cerner electronic health record system
• Use Baxter pumps and GE monitors as primary equipment
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards, maintain respectful behavior, and keep patient boards updated throughout patient visits
• Work with available techs in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage, and unit clerks during day and night shifts
• Wear navy scrubs per facility dress code

Schedule and Requirements

• Every other weekend scheduling required; no block scheduling available
• No RTO or special scheduling requests accommodated
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Preferred: 2+ years in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits); previous HCA experience

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC (all required before submission)
• CPI required before your hire date

You must demonstrate a teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and give feedback in real time. Flexibility to work in all ED areas is essential for this role.
