ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 101-bed Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 16-week travel position with a start date of October 19, 2026. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM), earning $2,365.20 weekly.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with typical ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Float to all sections within the ED as needed—no floating outside the department
• Document in the Cerner electronic health record system
• Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards, maintain respectful interactions, and keep patient boards current throughout visits
• Demonstrate teamwork, coach colleagues, and provide real-time feedback
• Work every other weekend with scheduling flexibility to meet department needs; block scheduling is not available

Facility Support

Techs are available in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, triage, and unit clerk coverage is provided on days and nights.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with more than 100,000 visits annually
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience
• Current certifications required before submission: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC
• CPI certification required before your hire date
• Navy scrubs required as dress code
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work across all ED areas
