ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Self-scheduling managed by manager based on unit needs
• 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• Trauma ICU department with 18 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:4 in PCU
• Care for adult and pediatric patients (15 years and older) with various trauma injuries, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, cardiac arrest, and more
• Required to titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
• Experience with CVPs, Alines, Swans, EV-1000, ICP monitoring, Zoll-Thermoguard for hypothermia protocol, and Bell Mont rapid transfusion
• Work with respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitoring using Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry - no monitor techs on unit
• Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available at a 1:18 ratio
• Floating required to inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU
• Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
• 2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail open book exam administered during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• First-time travelers will not be accepted
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• 50-mile radius rule applies
