RN - Rehab

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays are rotated to allow staff flexibility with family time
• Unit operates across two areas: 9 beds on Ortho and 13 beds on Inpatient Rehab
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 for Med-Surg and 1:6 for Inpatient Rehab, reviewed twice daily based on patient acuity
• If Med-Surg census does not support assignment, may be assigned to Inpatient Rehab patients
• Floating may be required to another Med-Surg unit with similar staffing ratios
• Common patient diagnoses include total knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, CVAs, encephalopathy, lumbar fusions, and general medical-surgical patients
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, IV management, Foley catheter care, and dressing changes
• Ortho experience preferred
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Monitor techs monitor telemetry patients off-site and notify nursing staff of any rhythm variations
• Patient Care Technicians are assigned to each rotation on nights to assist with ADL care and vital signs
• Charge nurse is present on both units for each shift and takes patient assignments
• Charting system: Paragon
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (not provided by department)
• Orientation includes three days of classroom training followed by two precepted shifts on the floor
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Required certification: BLS
