ED - Emergency Room

RN - ED

Job Details:

• Day shift position with hours from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• 13-week contract duration
• Floating required within nurse's scope and experience, typically to ICU if needed
• Blocked scheduling is not approved
• 48-hour guarantees are not approved
• Maximum of 1 RTO per 6-week scheduling period
• RTO blackout dates apply for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday dependent on department needs
• Call out requirement: minimum 2 hours prior to shift start
• Patient ratio of 4:1 in the Emergency Department
• Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department
• Full uniform required - no specific scrub color
• EMR system: MedHost (EDIS)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP
• Fingerprints required for all New Mexico travelers
• Provide shift accountability for emergency room patient care utilizing the Nursing Process
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in planning safe patient care delivery
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects proficiently
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Apply knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
