Job Details:

• Perform diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment under general supervision
• Verify patient identity and review patient medical records for appropriateness of exam or procedure
• Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors including medications, pregnancy, and psychological indicators
• Explain procedures to patients including side effects of pharmaceuticals administered, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up care
• Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images per script
• Review images, make initial observations, document exceptions from established protocols, and communicate data to radiologist
• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as appropriate
• Provide physician-prescribed post care instructions to patients
• Participate in process improvement activities within radiology practice including quality of care, patient flow, reject-repeat analysis, and patient satisfaction
• Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees
• May perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed
• Shifts begin at approximately 8:00 AM
• Some night call shifts (12 hours) may be required
• Availability for weekend calls is a plus
• Must be able to take call/standby as required by the department
• Must work independently with at least 2 years of recent CT and Radiology experience
• Must be familiar with GE CT and X-ray machines
• Required certifications: ARRT certification in CT Tech and Radiology, BLS (American Heart Association)
• Florida Radiology/CT license required
