Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available; overtime not billed until after 48 hours if accepting 48-hour weeks
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with an average daily census of 23
• 8 weekend shifts required per contract
• Floating to other units is required
• 3-day orientation: first day EPIC training, followed by two days on the unit
• Cardiac Telemetry experience required - this is a cardiac tele unit
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; stepdown experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required skills: IV starts, telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of cardiac drips (no titration for blood pressure)
• Patient diagnoses include: cardiac arrhythmias, MI, ACS, uncontrolled diabetes, DKA, heart failure, post heart catheterization, post PPM, and post ICD
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EKG testing required prior to start
• Unit systems: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR
• Charting system experience in Epic required
• Scrubs: Navy or white
• No charge nurses on the unit - teamwork is a must
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more
