RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• 4x12 hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Contract length of 13 to 26 weeks available
• 48 hours can be offered
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6; must be comfortable taking up to 6 patients based on unit needs
• Every other weekend required, plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period
• On-call requirement with frequency depending on patient census
• Float requirement within or near the facility
• No block scheduling
• Self-scheduling per unit guidelines with leadership oversight
• 36-hour orientation required; must be available every day during week one for hospital orientation
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; fast-paced, high-acuity unit with high patient turnover of 78 to 90 patients per week
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• High-level telemetry unit; PCU experience preferred but not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include IV starts, telemetry, cardiac drips, PCI, pre and post procedure cardiac patients, TR bands, titration of Cardizem drips, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care, heparin protocols, pacemaker management, blood product administration, and wound care
• Charting systems: Pyxis, Dimensions (EPIC), and SBAR communication
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Scrubs: Navy blue or white scrubs or a mixture of both; Novant t-shirts allowed all days of the week; jackets must match uniform material and color (no fleece); no Crocs with holes
• NC or Compact nursing license required
