ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float between MedSurg ICU and Neuro ICU units with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Call is permitted but not required - response time of 1 hour if picking up call
• Low census may occur in 4-hour increments; contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours
• Primary patient ratio of 2:1
• Work in a 16-bed Medical-Surgical ICU at a Level 2 trauma facility
• Care for patients with stroke, cerebral monitoring and drains, vents, drips, chest tubes, spinal drains, JPs, and some CRRT patients
• May encounter logging accidents, motorcycle accidents, and snowmobile accidents depending on season
• Clinical lead available 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 7 days per week; shift leader present at nights who also takes patients as needed
• CNAs and LPNs available to assist RNs
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg and ICU experience required; strong Neuro experience required
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS
• CCRN preferred but not required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
