ICU Registered Nurse Job in Clinton, Maryland

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital, caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and GI/GU diagnoses. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 19, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3x12 rotating day and night shifts
• Every other weekend required with 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) in a six-week period
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Weekly pay: $2,062

Experience and Credentials

• 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Compact license or Maryland license required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms

Clinical Responsibilities

You'll work in both IMC and ICU units with float coverage to ED and Med Surg as needed. You'll manage BiPAP/CPAP, administer blood products, monitor cardiac telemetry, care for ventilated patients, manage central lines and chest tubes, administer heparin and IV insulin protocols, deliver high flow nasal cannula, interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, manage vasoactive and cardiac drips, care for PICC lines and tracheostomies, perform wound care, and provide pre/post cardiac cath care.

Special Equipment

You'll work with ventilators and tracheostomies, IV non-titratable drips, high flow nasal cannula, dialysis, and peritoneal dialysis equipment.

Interdisciplinary Support

The facility provides comprehensive support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy.
