Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job in Des Moines, IA

UnityPoint – Iowa Methodist Medical Center is seeking an RN for our Cardiac Cath Lab on a temporary basis. You'll work day shifts (4x10) and provide direct patient care in a fast-paced interventional environment.

Position Overview

You will support circulating and monitoring functions in the Cardiac Cath Lab, with potential for scrubbing depending on your background. Your role includes patient preparation, equipment management, and close collaboration with interventional cardiologists and the care team.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of current Cardiac Cath Lab experience
• Demonstrated circulating and monitoring experience
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Valid driver's license
• Completion of facility-specific Cardiac Cath Lab skills checklist

Preferred Qualifications

• Structural heart experience
• Electrophysiology (EP) experience
• Prior travel nursing assignments
• Scrubbing experience
• Trauma Level I experience; Trauma Level II required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months

Additional Expectations

You must be willing to float across all Des Moines campuses to similar units as needed. On-call responsibilities include 1–2 nights per week and every third weekend from 7:30 PM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday. Weekend schedules are primarily on-call based, with assigned cases on rare occasions. You will be expected to precept as needed. All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
