ICU RN Job in Charlottesville, VA

University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 98-day travel assignment in their ICU float pool. You'll work nights on a 3x12 schedule earning $2,127 per week.

Schedule & Expectations

• Night shift, 3 days per week (36 or 48 hours available)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays including Thanksgiving, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Maximum 40 hours pre-approved time off per 13-week contract; no time off first 2 weeks
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Role Details

You will rotate through multiple ICU and intermediate care units: Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit, Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit, Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit, Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit, and ED Boarders. You must adhere to float pool policy within scope of practice as needed.

Patient ratios are 1.5 patients on days and weekends, 2 patients on nights. You'll care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Support services include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years nursing experience
• Travel healthcare experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Virginia nursing license (pending acceptable)
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Competency with ventilated patient care and dysrhythmia interpretation/management

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• TNCC and CCRN certifications
• Continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, procedural sedation, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and Level 1 trauma experience
