Operating Room RN Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health Methodist Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a 91-day travel contract. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts, with a schedule that includes every Saturday and Sunday plus one rotating weekday each week.

What You'll Do

You'll function as a circulating nurse (scrubbing preferred) in a Level I Trauma center performing 70 to 80 cases daily across 24 operating rooms. Surgical specialties include General, Plastics, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, Colorectal, and Robotics. You'll care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients and must be comfortable floating to different surgical areas as needed, excluding cardiovascular and transplant surgery.

Requirements

• Current Indiana state RN license (must be in hand at submission; pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of operating room experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Proficiency in General OR, Trauma, Craniotomy, Total Joint Replacement, Laparoscopic-Assisted Procedures, Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci Xi), Colorectal, Neurological, Gynecologic, Orthopedic, and Urologic procedures

Schedule & Commitments

No block scheduling. Six call shifts are required within the 6-week period, subject to variation. Holiday coverage is mandatory; you must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Floating within IU Health Methodist Hospital or to affiliate hospitals is required.

Scrubs are provided by the facility. Free parking is available. You'll use the Cerner charting system.

Contract Details

This 91-day assignment begins October 5, 2026, at $2,415 weekly. IU Health Methodist Hospital is a Level I Trauma center with a well-established surgical program offering diverse clinical experience.
