Operating Room RN Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health Methodist Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Operating Room in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment offering a 3x12 days schedule with a weekly pay rate of $2,410.56.

Position Overview

You will work in a high-volume OR environment serving 70–80 patients daily across 24 operating rooms. The unit treats adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients and utilizes advanced surgical technology including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic procedures.

Schedule & Expectations

• 3x12-hour day shifts
• Monday through Friday schedule with call and/or holiday coverage required; weekend-only position also available
• 6 call shifts required per 6-week period (varies)
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No block scheduling

Clinical Requirements

You must have a minimum of 3 years of OR nursing experience and Level I Trauma experience (required). Circulate skills are mandatory; scrub skills preferred. You will be expected to float within scope across units as needed.

Core 6 staff must have experience in at least 3 of the following: Neuro, Ortho, General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, GU, Trauma, and Robotics. You should be well-rounded and current in most surgical areas except Cardiovascular and Transplant.

Required Skills & Procedures

• General OR, Trauma, and Craniotomy
• Total Joint Replacement and Laparoscopic Assisted Cases
• Colorectal, Gynecologic, Neurological, Orthopedic, and Urologic Robotic Surgery
• Additional procedures across General, Plastic, GYN, ENT, GU, Neuro, and Ortho specialties

Required Credentials & Licenses

• Current Indiana state RN license required prior to submission (pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
