Operating Room RN Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health University Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room on a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026. You will work 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM) with weekend shifts preferred, earning $2,410.56 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide direct perioperative nursing care in an abdominal transplant-focused surgical environment. The unit specializes exclusively in kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral procedures for adult and geriatric patients. You will float across multi-specialty cases and may assist with pediatric transplant cases as needed.

Scheduling and Expectations

• Work 3x12-hour shifts equal 36 hours per workweek
• Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week period
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Float required across all surgical specialties within the unit

Required Credentials and Experience

• Current RN license (Indiana residents are not accepted for this position)
• Minimum 2 years of strong transplant surgery experience, including kidney and liver cases
• BLS certification
• Regulatory Charting for Transplants certification

Facility Information

You will use the Cerner electronic health record system. The facility prefers candidates with prior Cerner experience, though training will be provided as needed.
