OR Registered Nurse Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health Riley Hospital for Children is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Position Overview

You will work in a Level I Trauma pediatric surgical environment, supporting a wide range of procedures from routine cases to highly complex surgeries. You'll care for patients ranging from neonates through adolescents, with some adult cases, and will operate advanced surgical equipment including the da Vinci robotic system, Stealth navigation, and ROSA technology.

Schedule and Commitment

• 5x8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (4x10-hour shifts also available: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM)
• 4 call shifts required per 6-week period
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• 84-day assignment
• Start date: October 19, 2026

Required Qualifications

• Current Indiana RN license
• Minimum 2 years operating room experience; 3 years preferred
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• BLS certification
• Trauma Level I experience mandatory
• Neurosurgery experience required (adult experience accepted)
• Scrub experience preferred

Clinical Scope

You will perform and assist with surgical procedures including General, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Plastics, and ENT cases. Your responsibilities will span minor procedures to highly complex surgeries such as ECMO cases, burn procedures, tumor resections, and trauma interventions. Cerner charting system experience is preferred.

Work Environment

Floating within Riley Hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals is required. You'll be part of a surgical team in a pediatric trauma center setting.

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,706
