Operating Room RN Job in Indianapolis, IN

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at IU Health University Hospital, a position centered on abdominal transplant surgery. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 5, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM)
• Weekend availability preferred
• Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week period
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Weekly pay: $2,432

Role Responsibilities

You will float across multi-specialty surgical areas covering all surgery types, with occasional assistance for pediatric transplants. The unit specializes in kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral procedures. You will handle transplant surgery scrubbing, robotic-assisted procedures including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, laparoscopic techniques, organ donation coordination, specimen handling and labeling, cell saver operation, and laser and radiation safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Current Indiana license, temporary license, or compact license at start date
• Minimum 2 years of strong transplant experience, including kidney and liver procedures
• BLS certification
• Regulatory Charting for Transplants certification
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system (preferred)
• Competency in universal protocol (time out) procedures, latex allergy awareness, fire safety, and radiation safety

Additional Information

You will care for adult and geriatric patients. Pediatric transplant experience is preferred but not required. Indiana residents are not eligible for this position. You must be available to begin on the specified start date and able to commit to the full 91-day assignment.
