Job Details:

• Night shift position with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Provide intensive care management to patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Care for patients with central nervous system tumors, complex spine surgery, acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, neuro-endovascular interventions, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuromuscular diseases, status epilepticus, and central nervous system infections
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Must adhere to float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (can submit with NIH stroke certification pending)
• Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, infection prevention, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and neuro intensive care unit experience
• Virginia nursing license required (pending licenses accepted; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
