Opportunity:

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• Night shift position with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• 13-week contract
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required, every other holiday required
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Unable to approve back-to-back weekends off
• Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
• Care for MICU population with predominantly multi-system failure and co-morbid conditions including sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, and organ failure
• Work across two ICU units totaling 28 beds (16 beds on MICU3 and 12 beds on MICU4)
• Perform and assist with special procedures including percutaneous trachs, CVC placements, arterial lines, CRRT, SLED, PA catheters, chest tubes, thoracentesis, paracentesis, PEG placements, intubation, conscious sedation, and diagnostic patient transport
• Operate special equipment including Accu-check/Glucommander, ABGs/point of care testing, and ventilators
• Must float within scope of practice as needed per facility policy
• 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
• Nursys verification required
