PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health is seeking an RN for a 12-hour shift position on a mixed medical-surgical and progressive care unit specializing in post-surgical transplant patients. This 89-week assignment begins October 26, 2026, at $2,397.60 per week.

Your role:

• Provide direct nursing care to post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
• Monitor patients closely for infection, rejection, and ensure timely medication delivery
• Work flexibly as either a med-surg or stepdown nurse based on staffing needs
• Manage an assigned group of patients and document all responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments
• Track and communicate all changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe manifestations, and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
• Educate patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate

Requirements:

• Stepdown or PCU experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Level 1 certification required
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Preceptor and charge experience preferred

Operating room candidates will not be considered for this position.
