PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health is seeking an RN for a 12-hour shift position on a mixed medical/surgical and stepdown acute care surgical floor in Oklahoma City, OK. This 89-day travel assignment begins November 2, 2026, and offers $2,397.60 weekly.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care on a progressive care unit serving post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation. Your responsibilities include:

• Monitor patients closely for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations, and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospital stay and at time of discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• Acute care surgical floor experience
• Stepdown/PCU experience

Preferred Qualifications

• ENT and/or transplant experience
• Preceptor and charge experience

Assignment to med/surg or stepdown patients will be dependent on nurse availability and acuity. OR candidates will not be accepted for this position.
