ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4 for days, nights, and weekends
• 8-10 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period, including Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• No block scheduling available
• No on-call required
• Float may be required between ED Hold area, departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI and MAB
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required skills include: cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP management, ventilated patient care, isolation precautions, and triage
• Preferred skills include: arterial line management, interpretation of dysrhythmias, interpretation of ABGs, experience in STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility settings
• Treats patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Occasional OB patients may require management of mother and baby until transferred out
• Daily census of approximately 50 patients across 12 rooms
• Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact license required
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off
