PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekdays with some weekends required
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4 with flexibility to 1:5 in emergencies
• Block scheduling available for weekend blocks only (Fri, Sat, Sun or Sat, Sun, Mon)
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• 1 year of Medical/Telemetry experience and 2 years of Stepdown experience required
• Must be able to read cardiac strips
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (must be through American Heart Association)
• Required skills: IV start and telemetry monitoring
• Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Charting system: Cerner
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, primarily cardiac patients including cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures
• Unit consists of 36 beds with a daily census of 34
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
• Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
• WV or Compact License required
