Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele Stepdown

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on both day shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend shift notes indicate 12-hour weekend days
• Every-other-weekend requirement with Saturday and Sunday for both day and night shifts
• Work on a 36-bed Cardiac/Telemetry PCU Stepdown unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: MedSurg/Tele acuity 1:5 (occasionally 1:6); PCU acuity 1:4
• CNA support available with team nursing model of 1 RN and 1 CNA for 6-7 patients
• Charge nurse available 24/7; day charge nurse does not take patients, night charge nurse does take patients
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• Charting system: EPIC
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently (Phillips monitors with monitor techs available)
• Must be able to titrate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg
• Common patient diagnoses include cardiac patients, CR bands, post-cath, AMI, post-op lung surgeries after CCU, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI
• CPAP and BiPap present on unit - managed by respiratory therapy
• Float may be required to any MedSurg/Tele unit
• Stepdown RN experience strongly preferred given higher acuity than typical telemetry units
• Royal blue scrubs required
• No false nails permitted
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Trauma Level 2 acute care setting
• BSN not required
• Must submit valid driver's license and reside outside a 50-mile radius
