RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend night shift schedule (Friday through Sunday)
• 3 weekend shifts required in a 4-week schedule (Saturday, Sunday, Saturday)
• Holiday work required as needed
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Floating is very rare
• 32-bed stepdown unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 for stepdown assignments and 1:4 for combo assignments
• 3-4 CNAs per shift available on the unit
• Care for post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients
• Must have strong MedSurg Stepdown experience and ability to titrate drips and read strips
• Titrate drips with specific parameters per MD orders including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix (no vasopressors)
• Work with BiPap and trach patients (no ventilators)
• Interpret and chart patient rhythm with assessments every 4 hours or more frequently during medication titration
• Utilize centralized telemetry monitoring system at nurses station and in patient rooms
• Document using EPIC charting system
• 3 shifts of unit orientation provided
• 2 shift cancellation policy per 13-week contract
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Acute care setting
