Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on a hybrid medical and surgical unit (3C/3D Surgical Orthopedics Med-Surg) caring for both general medical and post-operative surgical patients
• Care for adult patients admitted from the emergency department meeting admission criteria
• Surgical patient population includes general surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colorectal surgeries, small bowel obstructions, vascular surgeries including BKA/AKA), orthopedic procedures (knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, spine surgery, and limb lengthening), bariatrics, GYN, and urology
• Standard patient ratio of 1:5 with willingness to work 1:6 ratios as needed per unit needs
• Weekend coverage required
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
• Utilize Cerner documentation system (preferred)
• Use of PCA equipment required
• Must be proficient in med/surg, total joint replacement, and basic EKG skills
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Valid Maryland or Compact nursing license required
• Candidates must be willing to float within the hospital within scope
