RN - Med Surg Adult

Job Details:

• Perform initial and ongoing age-appropriate nursing assessments and reassessments
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient needs and physician orders
• Administer medications correctly utilizing the five rights through med verify and evaluate patient responses
• Document patient care activities in accordance with established standards and policies and procedures
• Communicate patient care activities and status updates to all health care team members
• Participate in MDT meetings and bedside rounding with hospitalist and case manager
• Complete discharge assessments, discharge planning, and ensure patient and family understanding of discharge plan
• Perform follow-up calls to patients post-discharge
• Maintain a physical environment that ensures patient and staff safety and wellness
• Ensure supplies and equipment are readily available and in safe working order
• Assess need for patient and family education and provide teaching as indicated
• Participate in hospital-wide quality improvement programs and department-specific initiatives
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs
• Must have visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess patients
• Maine RN license or compact license required
• BSN preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
