Respiratory Therapist Job in Akron, OH

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 90-day travel assignment at Akron Campus in Akron, OH. You will work the night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, on a 3x12 schedule at $2,089 per week.

Role Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide direct patient care, confirm physician orders, and assess treatment appropriateness. You will monitor patient tolerance and response to respiratory therapy, document findings in the medical record, and communicate any unusual reactions to the physician, nurse, and hospital staff. You will explain procedures to patients, address their concerns, and maintain a safe environment for all.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures per department policy and protocol
• Set up, operate, and maintain all respiratory equipment and devices
• Administer medical gases and medications as ordered
• Assist with emergency response and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Participate in patient care teams and quality improvement initiatives
• Complete billing information for services rendered
• Attend in-services, meetings, and conferences to maintain current knowledge
• Maintain proficiency in respiratory care skills per regulatory requirements

Primary Equipment

You will work with PB 980 and PB 840 ventilators, V60 noninvasive ventilator, Epoc handheld analyzer, and ParaPacPlus transport ventilator.

Qualifications

RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) is preferred. CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) accepted if Registry Eligible with appropriate experience.

Time Off Policy

A maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed during the assignment. Candidates requiring more than 7 days will not be considered.
