ICU RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital South in Saint Louis, MO is seeking an RN for a 13-week travel assignment in their Intensive Care Unit. You'll work the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule with every other weekend required. There is no call obligation.

Role Details

• 22-bed Intensive Care Unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; you must be available the entire week for onboarding
• Direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
• Monitor and coordinate care activities with ancillary departments
• Charting in EPIC

Patient Population

You'll care for patients with sepsis, respiratory conditions, post-cardiac arrest, GI bleed, DKA, PE, renal failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, overdose, and suicidal ideations. Experience with cardiac-focused medical ICU patients—including arrhythmias, STEMI, and post-arrest care—is preferred. You must have direct experience recovering open-heart patients from the OR.

Equipment & Skills

The unit uses Impella, IABP, Prismax CRRT, Zoll internal cooling device, and Arctic Sun. You'll work within established nursing practice guidelines and scope of preparation.

Requirements

• Current RN license; must be eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri
• Minimum 3 years of Cardiac and/or Medical ICU experience (inpatient only)
• BLS and ACLS certification from AHA only
• NIHSS certification
• TNCC certification preferred

Additional Information

You may be floated to other step-down units depending on staffing needs. Dress code is black scrubs only; hats, non-facility jackets or sweatshirts, and air pods are not permitted.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,314 with 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week. Assignment begins August 17, 2026.
