Med Surg RN Job in Bronx, NY

St. Barnabas Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for our Medical Surgical unit in Bronx, NY. This is a 94-day travel assignment beginning July 29, 2026, offering you competitive pay of $2,431 per week.

Role Overview

You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a rotating schedule that includes every other weekend and holiday coverage. As an RN on the Med Surg floor, you will develop individualized care plans by interviewing patients and families, administer therapeutic measures including medications and IV therapy, and provide education on preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures. You will document nursing interventions and patient responses while coordinating care between disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including mechanical ventilation support for patients with tracheostomies and ventilators
• Initiate emergency measures when a physician is not immediately available
• Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel
• Maintain adequate supplies and equipment while ensuring a safe environment
• Float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
• Maintain current nursing knowledge and promote professional growth

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Experience with tracheostomies and ventilators
• EPIC EMR proficiency
• Current BLS certification
• Scrubs required in Ciel Blue color
