RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Part-time position working 2x12-hour shifts with day, night, weekend, and holiday rotation
• 2 additional on-call shifts required within every 4-week period
• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities for patients of all age groups
• Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments including physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs
• Perform triage and assign priority of care in accordance with ESI triage standards
• Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions to manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Reassess patients to identify responses to treatment and changes in condition
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse across all age groups
• Provide patient and family education including discharge instructions and post-emergency care referrals
• Maintain patient communication boards throughout the ED stay
• Collaborate with team members to ensure best possible patient outcomes
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital experience as a registered nurse required
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department hospital experience as a registered nurse required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification/NIHSS (must be AHA or RQI)
• New York State RN licensure required
