Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work in a 10-bed med-surg flex pod open Monday 7:00 AM through Friday 7:00 PM
• Float among all med-surg areas including general medical, neuro, general surgery, orthopedics, medical and surgical cardiac, oncology, nephrology, and observation
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6
• All beds are telemetry capable with telemetry monitored remotely by telemetry technicians
• EMR system: EPIC
• Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and data analysis
• Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and standard of practice
• Conduct hourly rounds utilizing the 4 P's
• Utilize standard work in caring for central lines, chest tubes, foley and suprapubic catheters, pressure ulcers, restraints, and patients with high risk for falls
• Understand and recognize appropriate storage and safety of medications including large volume IVs, saline, and medications in pre-packaged kits
• Precept and mentor novice employees to contribute to overall department performance
• Participate in hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing-involved Evidence Based Practices
