Occupational Therapist Job in Alpena, MI

MyMichigan Health – Alpena is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 7, 2026. You will work a 5x8 day schedule in a primarily outpatient setting with some acute care responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patient function through formal and informal testing measures to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions
• Develop goal-specific treatment regimens based on assessment data and patient tolerance
• Submit and update written treatment plans as part of the physician-authorized plan of care to reflect changes in patient status
• Co-sign verbal orders received by occupational therapist assistants as necessary
• Devise frequency and duration-specific treatment schedules in coordination with patient, family, caregiver, and clinical support staff
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding pathology, condition, prognosis, and treatment rationale
• Provide supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per affiliate and regulatory standards
• Delegate responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides
• Attend one Saturday per month; no on-call responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

• Active Michigan Occupational Therapist License (LARA must state Active)
• Minimum 2 years of occupational therapy experience
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Skills checklist current within one year pertinent to Occupational Therapy
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Compensation: $2,551 per week.
