Respiratory Therapist Job in Hilo, HI

Hilo Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for day shift work. This is a 15-week travel assignment starting October 5, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 hours weekly
• $2,196 per week
• No guarantee of hours

Role Responsibilities

• Provide continuous airway management for patients
• Perform ventilator and non-invasive ventilator management and support
• Assist with physician consulting, CPR, and all aspects of respiratory care
• Care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
• Utilize computerized charting and Pyxis medication management systems
• Operate PB 980, PB 840 Ventilators, V60, and Para Pac Transport Vent equipment

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Active Hawaii respiratory therapist license required by assignment start date
• Current Hawaii license preferred; candidates with application already submitted will be considered
• RRT certification required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• No first assignments accepted

You must hold or be able to obtain an active Hawaii respiratory therapist license to be considered for this position.
