Med Surg RN Job in Fort Morgan, CO

St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan is seeking an RN for a 14-bed Medical-Surgical unit. This is a night shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week, with self-scheduling and block scheduling options available. The assignment runs for 91 days, beginning December 7, 2026, at $2,073.60 weekly.

Unit Overview

You will work in a rural setting with typical lower patient volumes and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Nurse aide support becomes available once the floor reaches 9 patients. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.

Your Responsibilities

• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently; escalate concerning findings to the physician
• Titrate drips including analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
• Manage respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators
• Chart in EPIC system

Scheduling Requirements

A minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule is required. Holiday requirements and call or standby duties will be determined by the Nurse Manager. You may be asked to float into other acuity levels, including low-acuity ICU holds, PCU, Step-Down, and Med-Surg Telemetry.

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Valid driver's license; must reside within 60 miles of the facility
• Available in-state for orientation week
• Experience in a rural setting preferred
• BSN not required
