ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE is seeking an RN (Registered Nurse) for their 33-bed ICU. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 31, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,384.64.

Schedule and Staffing

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week: day shift 6:30 AM–6:30 PM or night shift 6:30 PM–6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract timeframe
• Self-scheduling into core staff; block scheduling not guaranteed
• On-call requirement: must arrive within 30 minutes if called back in

Unit Details

• Average daily census of 16 patients in a 33-bed unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Common diagnoses: trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress
• Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally Med-Surg with ratios of 1:4–1:5
• Nurse aides available based on census; Healthcare Support tech available 3 days per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor equipment with tele tech oversight
• Manage respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator

Requirements and Orientation

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass an open-book skills exam with minimum 90% score during orientation
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Artificial nails prohibited in patient care areas
• EPIC charting system used
