Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract time frame
• 1 shift of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Self-scheduling for travelers added into core staff schedule; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Nebraska RN license required prior to submission
• BSN not required
• Care for ICU patients with a 1:2-3 nurse-to-patient ratio in a 33-bed unit with an average daily census of 16
• Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Required to read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor system with tele tech oversight
• Manage patients on respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Float to PCU or occasionally MedSurg with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
• Chart using EPIC electronic health record system
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Driver's license required at time of submission
• Up to 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
• Trauma Level 2 acute care setting
