Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Travel experience required
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3 with an average daily census of 12 patients across 13 rooms and 15 beds
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; no RTO permitted during orientation week
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• Holiday work expectations: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required charting system: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Care for patients with diagnoses including Sepsis/Severe Sepsis/Septic Shock, Respiratory Failure/Pulmonary Diseases, S/P Cardiac Arrest, GI Bleed/Hemorrhagic Shock, DKA, Acute Kidney Disease, complicated surgery cases, Pulmonary Edema, Pulmonary Embolus, Drug Overdose, Hypoglycemia and Hyperglycemia, Hypertensive Emergencies, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Rhabdomyolysis, Metabolic Encephalopathy, and Malignant Neoplasms
• Perform and assist with special procedures including CRRT, TTM, Chest Tubes, Bronchoscopies, Lumbar Punctures, I&Ds, Central Line insertion assistance, Central Line and Arterial Line maintenance, Peritoneal Dialysis, Continuous Bladder Irrigations, and Continuous IV Infusions (pressors, paralytics, sedatives, cardiac)
• Required skills include: Arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central line care/management, Continuous IV sedation, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, Management of patient with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Titrate Cardiac and Vasoactive drips, Ventilator Management, and Isolation Precautions/PPE
• Special equipment used includes: Spacelabs monitors, Zoll Defibrillators, PrismaMax, Arctic Sun, Wound Vacs, Blood Warmers, Rapid Infusers, BIS monitoring, Bedside Glucometer point of care machines, Bladder Scanner, and External Pacemakers
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Orientation hours: 12
