Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment in acute care therapy and rehabilitation. You will work a 5x8 days schedule at $2,390.40 per week, with a start date of October 6, 2026.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy services to acute care patients with varied diagnoses including cardiovascular, geriatric, cardiopulmonary, neurological, trauma, and orthopedic conditions
  • Support critical care early mobility initiatives within a 400-bed hospital serving 70+ daily census
  • Float to outpatient areas as needed
  • Participate in weekend rotation every five weeks with holiday coverage; 4 weekend shifts per contract
  • Provide on-call support on Sundays for CVA patients
  • Treat patient populations ranging from neonates to geriatric adults

Required Qualifications

  • Current Texas occupational therapy license
  • NBCOT certification
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year professional experience
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred

Required Clinical Skills

  • Acute care techniques: activities of daily living, feeding techniques, edema massage
  • Modalities: biofeedback, electrical stimulation, TENS, ultrasound
  • Orthopedic expertise: hip fracture and total hip replacement, knee injuries and total knee replacement, soft tissue injuries, arthritis programs, hand injury treatment
  • Prosthetics and orthotics: above and below knee prosthetics, upper extremity prosthetics
  • Splinting: dynamic, functional, orthoplast, serial/inhibitory, static splints
  • Cardiac rehabilitation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cerner electronic charting system experience

Interdisciplinary Support

You will collaborate with physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries to deliver comprehensive patient care.
